*Daytime TV will get a little younger as Keke Palmer steps into the talk show circuit with her new series, “Just Keke.”
Media sources report the show will touch on social issues as well as
pop culture, fashion and relationships. In addition, Palmer, who
recently starred in VH1’s “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story,” will conduct celebrity interviews. With her new series, the former “True Jackson VP” star will become the youngest talk show host in U.S. television history.
Prior to Palmer, 20, the record was held by “The Cosby Show” star Tempestt Bledsoe, who was 22-years-old when she hosted the short-lived talk show “The Tempest Bledsoe Show.”
“Just Keke” marks the second time BET has ventured into the world of
daytime talk shows. The network’s previous offering , “Oh Drama,” aired
for two seasons from 2000 to 2002.
“Just Keke” will air five days a week at 5 p.m. ET in an initial four week test run on BET starting June 30.
