This is the Summer of Luenell! Popular comedian/actress Luenell has three movies on the boards this Summer. First, she's currently being seen in the hit Screen Gems sequel, "Think Like A Man Too," as Aunt Winnie, in a great scene with Dennis Haysbert. That film came in #1 at the box office on its opening weekend. Second, she stars in the directorial debut of Nick Cannon, the Lionsgate film called "School Dance," as Mamma Tawanna, the mother of lead character Jason Johnson, played by Bobb'e J. Thompson (a part that Nick wrote for Luenell).
That star-studded film, whose cast also includes Katt Williams, Kevin, Hart, Mike Epps, Wilmer Valderrama, George Lopez, Amber Rose, the RZA and Lil Duval, opens in theaters nationwide and on VOD on Wednesday, July 2nd, right in time for the Fourth of July weekend. Last but definitely not least, Luenell co-stars with Faizon Love in an indy horror film called "Matthew 18." They're both comedians, but the chilling flick is no laughing matter! Not since "Blacula" in the 70's has there been a seriously nail-biting African-American horror film--until now. This "coming soon" film also features newcomers Jennifer Jayleen Martinez and Don Benjamin, who was a favorite on "America's Next Top Model." The film screened to a packed crowd in Hollywood recently. So, if Luenell appears to be all over the place -- it's not your imagination -- she is!!!
